New Mexico's First Accredited Chest Pain Center

Presbyterian was the first hospital in the state to be recognized as an Accredited Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers. We were awarded this prestigious designation because our doctors utilize a protocol-driven and systematic approach to reduce the time of treatment during the critical early stages of a heart attack, and also by:

• Having effective integration of our Emergency Department and local Emergency Medical Services. 
• Rapidly assessing, diagnosing and treating heart patients.
• Specifically designing our facility for effective patient evaluation and monitoring.
• Maintaining an ongoing quality improvement program
• Using community outreach programs to educate the public about heart health.
